Age Ratings

Videogames are played by people of all ages, not just children and are now a mainstream activity, just like listening to music or watching a film. It is likely that either you, a member of your family, some of your friends, or your work colleagues, use some form of interactive entertainment regularly.

That is why every game published in the UK has an age rating clearly displayed on the packaging – to help ensure that the right games are enjoyed by the right players. Age ratings provide guidance to consumers to help them decide whether or not to buy a particular product.

Age ratings for computer and video games come from the PEGI system, which stands for Pan-European Games Information. PEGI is used and recognised throughout Europe and has the enthusiastic support of the European Commission.
